नीलकंठेश्वर मंदिर

परमार राजा भोज के पुत्र उदयादित्य द्वारा 10-11 वीं शताब्दी में बनवाया गया उदयपुर का नीलकंठेश्वर मंदिर भगवान शिव को समर्पित है। यह मंदिर आस्था और शिल्प का बेजोड़ नमूना है। गगनचुम्बी शिखर, अद्धभुत शिल्प और गर्भगृह में विशाल शिवलिंग के दर्शन करने यहां श्रावण सोमवार पर लाखों दर्शनार्थी पहुंचते हैं।
मंदिर में प्रतिदिन सूर्य किरणाभिषेक होता है। सूरज की पहली किरण मंदिर के गर्भगृह में स्थित शिवलिंग पर पड़ती है। मंदिर का वास्तु कुछ इस प्रकार का है कि भोर की पहली किरण वेधशाला, मंडप और गर्भगृह के छोटे से द्वार को चीरती हुई भगवान भोलेनाथ के शिवलिंग पर पड़ती है।
सूर्यदेव उदय के साथ ही भोलेनाथ को प्रणाम कर जग में उजियारा फैलाने की अनुमति मांगते हों। मुख्य शिवलिंग पर पीतल का आवरण चढ़ाया गया है। जिसे विशेष अवसर पर जल अर्पित करने और दर्शन के लिए अलग भी रख दिया जाता है। मंदिर मेंं शिवलिंग के पास ही देवी पार्वती की प्रतिमा भी उपस्थित है।

The Neelkantheshwar Temple of Udaipur, built in the 10-11th century by Udayaditya, son of the Parmar king Bhoj, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is an unmatched example of faith and craft. Lakhs of visitors come here on Shravan Monday to see the skyscraper peak, amazing sculptures and the huge Shivalinga in the sanctum sanctorum. Surya Kiran Abhishek is performed daily in the temple. The first ray of the sun falls on the Shivalinga located in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The architecture of the temple is such that the first ray of dawn penetrates the small gate of the observatory, pavilion and sanctum and falls on the Shivalinga of Lord Bholenath. As soon as the Sun God rises, he bows to Bholenath and asks for permission to spread light in the world. The main Shivalinga has been covered with brass. Which is also kept aside for offering water and darshan on special occasions. The statue of Goddess Parvati is also present near Shivling in the temple.
